ABSTRACT: We will present the proposed degree program at College of Santa Fe to
get feedback from the group. Dave Thomas will accompany Dave West.

Dave Thomas is a former professor at Carleton College in Canada, founder of OTI,
and a leader in object and real-time software technologies. It was OTI's engine
that became the core of VisualAge Smalltalk (and Java) and also the original
code for the Eclipse IDE. OTI also had a lot of embedded systems technology
that went to IBM when the company was purchased. OTI was solely owned by Dave
so he had no obligation to do so - but when he sold the company he gave 50% of
the proceeds to his employees.
