I'd add to that the public must learn to be reflexively suspicious of information that stirs schadenfreude or demonizes fellow citizens. And it's not just anger, schadenfreude, or demonization but *fear* as well. With Nick's recent expression of an existential fear and Dave's expression of his fear of political opponents (leftists), any bit of fodder that comes across your desk that evokes your *fear* should be either ignored or aggressively disassembled.

Easier said than done, I know. Every time I try to condition myself with images like this:
