need a browser add-on that just does the image search and annotates image
provenance inline, call it a miscaptcha, could probably identify
photoshopped and deepfaked images, too, with a little more effort on the
image search backend.  Speaking of which, image search could provide a full
history of images that go viral, when and where they came from, turned up,
how frequently, which malware exploits they're carrying, etc..  All this
information could be presented in a mouse over pop up.  Would be what the
browsers would already do if they were interested in educated and informed
internet users.

Remember the one about the stupid email scammers writing in broken english
in order to bias their respondent populations to the least discriminating
sub-groups?   Isn't that the essence of targeted advertising?  Find me the
people who are stupid and naive enough to fall for <this>.  Mustn't educate
or inform, it might disturb the metrics.
