Delta/Iverson Bracket is a pretty fundamental and generally
useful(used) abstraction across lots of domains.</p>
<p>If you are trying to use the tweeted advice you quoted, you must
be working with "logical conditions and truth values in some
formula"? But that only narrows it down a little?</p>
