Last night, it was making noises like a saw-whet owl that has slammed his talons in a car door. I will pay close attention to the heating issue. So far the machine is barely warm to the touch. The conclusion was the hardware is too old to support W10 so why don't I just buy a new laptop which might be a less expensive option. I took it home and installed Zoom. For all other purposes accessing applications via the browser should work. The only relevance of my experience is to resist buying a new computer unless there is no other less costly option.
