Ha! I can't help but recall L. Ron Hubbard and his relationship to the megalomaniacal/inadequacy tendencies of JPL co-founder Jack Parsons. Rockets aren't an object of obsession because they're vehicles to Mars or for killing huge numbers of enemies. They're objects of obsession because they model Musk et al's penises. Of course a celebrity like Musk tries to buy penises from strongman dictators!
