It is a kind of data laundering for copyrighted works of art. The copyrighted sources are hidden by a long learning process. LLMs are trained on massive datasets and often reproduce exactly what they have seen, but the publishers of the model often do not name the sources.<div><div><div dir="auto"><div dir="auto"><div dir="auto"><div dir="auto"><div><div dir="auto"><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Maybe creativity in general is based on laundering stuff and mixing of ideas taken from somebody else. In this sense LLMs are just as creative as we are. They steal and cover their tracks.
