I don't know you en vivo, Marcus, but do you deny that there exists
something that you worship or are you saying that there are no people who
worship nothing?  I am tempted to write that in predicate calculus.  In my
experience some people worship science as the royal road to the truth.
Nick's attachment to Peirce reminds me of some religious people's behavior,
including quoting scripture.  I have a similar relationship to
psychoanalytic theory.  I agree with you that La Mott meant that the
conventional religions were not the only options when she mentioned the
Muffin and St. Bob (Dylan).

(I used to work in the Research Center in Child Psychiatry at the
University of Pittsburgh.  The Department of Psychiatry at that time was
dominated by psychoanalysts.)
