I use Zoom and Facetime all the time over my mobile phone, either directly or by a personal hotspot.
Also iPhone wired tethering works well on Linux after installing usbmuxd and libimobiledevice.

I’ve always assumed that the wifi network, polity, doesn’t have the bandwidth. No?
