[FRIAM] Dispatches from the Uncanny Valley

I was enrolled over the phone  for my first shot at 10.10 in the morning
next Thursday.  The young evangelist who enrolled me said that 10.10 is a
good omen.  I will take it.  

 

 

Ohmigosh!  I just googled it!  

 

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am
come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly

 

That's uncanny.  

 

I still insist that fingernails on a blackboard are uncanny.  The logic is,
"Uncanny things cause shivers. Fingernails cause shivers.  Fingernails are
uncanny."  That's abduction, right?
