[FRIAM] For Nick: tornadoes in the infrared

This is rather magnificent.  And the stable structure is an octagon.

If I don’t mis-remember, the stable vortex winds we see on the pole(s?) of Saturn is hexagonal.

Hmm.  Packing of conical objects in a sphere….
