[FRIAM] The Dry Line and the Monsoon

Here is this afternoon's sounding from ABQ:

This is almost a classic desert (triangular) desert sounding.  It shows
water vapor collecting at the top of the mixed layer.

And the one  6 hours earlier  from AMA. I don[t know why they are not at
the same time.  The blue line extending to the right of the red line
indicates a potential for severe weather.   Note that  a version of the
same triangle also occurs here, but raised above the surface, an elevated
mixed layer.  This is the hot desert air over riding the cooler tropical
air at the surface.  .
