Hobbit land! Sounds a bit like paradise. The Fijdi islands are not far away. I believe Google co-founder Larry Page owns one of the Fijdi islands - Tavarua if I recall correctly. And while the U.S. is apparently too misogynistic to elect a woman, there have been three women prime ministers in New Zealand.-J.

Spoiler - almost everyone I've ever encountered on this list would be on the "immediate skills shortage list" which accelerates immigration for both countries. Lots of upside, like $1USD = $1.51AUD, socialised medicine, mandatory employer backed saving for retirement, plenty of space (size of continental USA with a population of 25M). Downsides such as island continent. If it isn't made or grown here it is expensivo. Plus, 14 hours by air if you leave family behind in the USA.Regards,Joe
