Dryline Position and Weather Impacts
The dryline is currently situated from southeastern New Mexico into the
Permian Basin of west Texas. This setup is conducive to the formation of
severe thunderstorms, including supercells capable of producing very large
hail and possibly a couple of tornadoes. The Storm Prediction Center has
highlighted this area for a slight risk of severe weather today. Severe

In addition to the severe weather threat, strong heating over eastern New
Mexico is contributing to moderate atmospheric instability, further
