IDK. Balance also seems like a metaphysical commitment, similar to equity, equality, egalitarianism, equilibrium, fairness. I think the only reason I'm not actually an anarchist is because I can't put any faith in ideas like balance. They're inherently optimistic. The high frequency, high dimensional stuff I interact with seems wholly unfair, unbalanced, ... always far from equilibrium. To believe otherwise feels fideistic.

But it just doesn't matter if you let it go.

But all 3 seem to me to assume some kind of metaphysical commitment: optimism ← outcomes trend good, pessimism ← outcomes trend bad, realism ← there is an outside world and we have access to it. But I propose a different third way (maybe a fourth way if we place them all on a 2d plane): doubt or agnosticism. Just stop putting your faith into anything, negative or positive, real or fake, and you'll be just fine. Just let go... 8^D https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36285938/
