[FRIAM] Back at the ranch, I'm enjoying the popcorn.

I'm so torn. At the moment, I'm surrounded by those who think political violence is unjust[ified]. But it feels like typical [neo]liberal posturing. The reason they think such things is because they're (relatively) safe, eating popcorn, watching the world burn. Every Friday, we have a group of people all dressed in black, protesting nuclear weapons on a particular corner in Olympia. Sometimes their signs talk about war in general, or Trumpian ethnic cleansing, or whatever. But the main message is that war is bad.
And even though I did transition from offensive to defensive weapons development back in the day, I'm still a bit hawkish. Big "L" Libertarianism agrees that war is almost always bad because it would require a God to tell us which wars correct an unjust violation/coercion of another. Without the God, it's just ... like, your opinion, man. And even the pasty stick-boy anarchists who spend more time reading than assembling their homemade armor tend to be anti-war.
But sometimes, some people need to be killed. Who to kill? When to kill them? How to kill them? IDK. It's a bit like the PETA conundrum. Kill shelters are humane, despite how cute you think dogs are. Were I one of the migrants or forever prisoners in Guantanamo, I'd probably be tapping on the metal: -.- .. .-.. .-.. -- .

Can I have my name inscribed on a Ukrainian drone? As was said of warheads back in the '80s: "When you care enough to send the very best." So much more engaging than football.

The billionaires and the fascists they support *do* require our participation in their games, as rigged as they are.

Most measures have their "tax freedom day" estimated somewhere in the first week (or even first hours) of the year, especially if there are offshore and crypto hiding schemes involved. Somehow this doesn't seem to motivate the "small government" or "anti-elite" MAGA types?

The penalties for failing to pay taxes (witholding) in advance and even for paying levied taxes on time have been fairly anemic (though not vacant). Is it gutsier to risk being levied interest and fines on un(der)paid taxes, or standing up to a jacked and militarized law enforcement action in the street? Which maybe makes the biggest difference? Maybe both.
