Many of my lefty friends bemoan the Heritage Foundation as if it were as competent as Sauron or Palantir. It's just not. *That* is competence, hedging one's bets. Yes, Thiel et al hate Medicare. But as long as it exists, we may as well milk it for ALL it's worth, eh? And add a little sugar like a .org TLD, some "we're helping old people" glazing, etc. And you got a real winner, there. I remember the very day I committed to never joining the AARP, when I got a flyer in the mail endorsing GW Bush. Are they evil? Or just stupid? Both? IDK and IDC. I'm not joining your little club.

One can make similar claims about Musk, being overwhelmingly funded by government handouts and yet bemoaning government handouts. But Musk is just so bad at the optics ... or at least his competence took a nose dive at some point ... maybe when he ramped up on the ketamine?
