Marcus, I am reminded of an essay that spoke to the ancient technology that
opened the door to those that came after, the alphabet. When we became
"literate", people of the book, we became separated from our natural
animistic tendencies and stopped having a conversation with trees and
rivers, and stones, storms.  Important information was not only
transformed, but displaced--and here we are today.
