Jon,  The problem with your nabble strategy is that I never know who you're
talking to. 

Assuming it is me, yes, there is a tremendous confusion about the word
"empathy".  But let me put it this way.  You and I, in the midst of a
walking the woods, have stopped to rest and talk and I notice suddenly your
eyes fixate on a point behind me, and, as suddenly, you scream "BEAR!" and
start running.  And as suddenly, I find myself running, too.  Now, I call
that more than empathy.  Whatever you care to call that, that is closer to
what a method actor is trying to achieve.
