While physics tries to examine the most fundamental stuff and elementary particles, psychology has the most interesting types of stuff, if "personality" is the stuff that personal characters are made of. There are countless individual and path-dependent differences in characteristic patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving as a person. Then there is the whole subject of consciousness and subjective experience which is interesting too, if we consider it as an accumulated, path dependent point of view.
