I don't see a reason sensors could't be interfaced with an analog processor like https://mythic.ai<https://mythic.ai/> in a robot.  How does that not get over the bar as non-information sensation?   I very much doubt my brain could tell the difference between real and artificial nerve stimulation.  It ought to be a question of getting the mimicry just right.
